DTC P1650: Power Steering Pressure (PSP) Switch Malfunction

P1650 - POWER STEERING PRESSURE (PSP) SWITCH MALFUNCTION

Description:  In the key on engine off (KOEO) self-test, this DTC indicates the PSP input to the PCM is high. In the key on engine running (KOER) self-test, this DTC indicates the PSP input did not change state.
Possible Causes: 
  • The steering wheel must be turned during KOER self-test
  • PSP switch/shorting bar damaged
  • SIG RTN circuit open
  • PSP circuit open or shorted to SIGRTN
Diagnostic Aids:   
Application  Key On Engine Off  Key On Engine Running  Continuous Memory 
All GO to FF: Power Steering Pressure (PSP) Switch STEP FF2. GO to FF: Power Steering Pressure (PSP) Switch STEP FF1. -
