231 - ELECTRICAL ROUTINE
Powertrain Control System
Electrical inputs/outputs, vehicle wiring harnesses, powertrain control module, EPC solenoid, transmission fluid temperature (TFT) sensor, throttle position sensor, mass air flow sensor	Run On-Board Diagnostics Tests. Refer to INTRODUCTION - GASOLINE article for Escape (gasoline) and Mariner or INTRODUCTION- HYBRID ESCAPE article for Escape (Hybrid). GO to PINPOINT TEST B and GO to PINPOINT TEST E .
331 - HYDRAULIC/MECHANICAL ROUTINE
Pump Assembly
Gaskets damaged	Inspect for damage. Install new as necessary.
Porosity/cross leaks	Inspect for leaks/porosity. Install new as necessary.
Pump support seals No. 3 or No. 4 leaking, misassembled, damaged	Inspect for damage. Repair as necessary.
Intermediate/Overdrive Servo and Band Assembly
Servo piston damaged	Inspect for damage. Repair as necessary
Servo piston return spring damaged	Inspect for damage. Repair as necessary
Forward Clutch Assembly
	Carry out Air Pressure Test.
Piston or seals damaged	Inspect for damage. Repair as necessary.
Friction elements damaged	Inspect for damage. Repair as necessary.
Low One-Way Clutch
Damaged, not holding	Inspect for damage. Repair as necessary.
