For Noises/Vibrations That Change With Engine Speed:
Torque converter components	Locate source of disturbance. Repair as necessary.
Fluid level (low) pump cavitation	Adjust fluid to correct level.
Pump assembly	Refer to PUMP ASSEMBLY .
Engine drive accessories	Refer to ENGINE - 2.3L or ENGINE - 3.0L (4V) .
Cooler tubes grounding out	Refer to TRANSAXLE-TRANSMISSION COOLING - CD4E .
Flexplate	Refer to ENGINE - 2.3L or ENGINE - 3.0L (4V) .
Inspection cover	Locate source of disturbance. Repair as necessary.
For Noises That Change With Vehicle Speed
Powertrain mounts loose, damaged	Locate source of disturbance. Repair as necessary.
Tires	Refer to SUSPENSION SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
Driveline concerns: front wheel driveshaft and joint or linkshaft, differential: final drive/chain, suspension, modifications	Refer to SUSPENSION SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
Planetary gear sets	Refer to PLANETARY GEARSETS AND CHAIN DRIVE PARTS .
Chain grounding to chain pan	Inspect chain pan for signs of damage or wrong installation. Repair as necessary.
Forward one-way clutch	Refer to REVERSE ONE-WAY CLUTCH - SPRAG TYPE , or LOW REVERSE ONE-WAY CLUTCH - MECHANICAL DIODE TYPE .
Torque converter assembly	Refer to TORQUE CONVERTER .
