Removal and Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

    All vehicles 

  1. With vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING .
  2. Remove the front impact severity sensor. For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM .
  3. Remove the 2 pushpin retainers from the front bumper bracket.
  4. Remove the 2 front grille bolts.
    • To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  5. Remove the 4 bolts and the 2 radiator brackets.
    • To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  6. Remove the center support lower bolt.
    • To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  7. Remove the nut and the center support.
    • To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  8. Disconnect the cooling fan electrical connectors
  9. Vehicles with 1-piece fan shroud 

    NOTE: 3.0L only.
  10. Disconnect the transmission cooler hose.
  11. Remove the 2 bolts and the cooling fan motor and shroud.
    • To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  12. Vehicles with 2-piece fan shroud 

  13. Remove the 6 cooling fan bolts.
    • To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  14. NOTE: Remove the LH cooling fan first and slide the RH cooling fan to the left side to remove.
  15. Remove the LH and the RH cooling fans.
  16. All vehicles 

  17. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
