Pinpoint Test C: The Wipers Stay On Continuously - Front

  1. C1 CHECK THE MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: Multi-function Switch C2081.
    • Key in ON position.
    • Does the wiper motor continue to run? 

    Yes  : GO to C2.

    No  : INSTALL a new multi-function switch. REFER to STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES . TEST the system for normal operation.

  2. C2 CHECK CIRCUIT 56 (DB/OG) FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: Windshield Wiper Motor C125.
    • Key in ON position.
    • Measure the voltage between multi-function switch C2081-6, circuit 56 (DB/OG), harness side and ground.

    • Is any voltage present? 

    Yes  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.

    No  : GO to C3.

  3. C3 CHECK CIRCUIT 28 (BK/PK) FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE 
    • Measure the voltage between multi-function switch C2081-4, circuit 28 (BK/PK), harness side and ground.

    • Is any voltage present? 

    Yes  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.

    No  : INSTALL a new windshield wiper motor. REFER to WIPER MOTOR - WINDSHIELD  in this article.
