Removal And Installation

NOTE:
While repairing the power steering system, care should be taken to prevent the entry of foreign material or failure of the power steering components may occur.
All vehicles
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.
- Using a suitable suction device, remove the power steering fluid from the fluid reservoir.
- Lift the power steering fluid reservoir out of the reservoir bracket.
- Remove the 2 power steering fluid reservoir bracket-to-cowl bolts.
- To install, tighten to 14 Nm (10 lb-ft).
- Remove the upper radiator air deflector. For additional information, refer to FRONT END BODY PANELS article.
- Remove the 2 power steering fluid reservoir bracket-to-radiator support bolts.
- To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
- Remove the 3 power steering fluid reservoir bolts and separate the bracket from the reservoir.
- To install, tighten to 11 Nm (8 lb-ft).
- Compress the clamp and disconnect the power steering cooler-to reservoir return hose.
- Compress the clamp and disconnect the power steering pump supply hose.
- Remove the power steering fluid reservoir.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Fill the power steering system. For additional information, refer to STEERING SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION article.
