Removal And Installation

  1. Remove the jack stowage cover (regular wagon).
    • Lift the jack stowage cover slightly upward and pull away from the body side.

  3. Remove the jack stowage cover (extended wagon).
    • Lift the jack stowage cover slightly upward and pull away from the body side.

  5. Pull the rear door weatherstrip off at the rear door opening to access the trim panel rivets.
  6. Remove the rear seat belt covers.
    • Pry the seat belt covers upward from the upper trim panels.

  8. Remove the window latches, if equipped.
    1. Remove the 2 window latch screw (1 shown).
    2. Remove the window latch.

  10. Remove the safety belt guide (extended wagon).
    1. Lift the safety belt guide cover.
    2. Using the special tool, remove the bolt.
      • To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
    3. Remove the safety belt guide.

  12. Remove the safety belt retractor cover (extended wagon).
  13. Remove the safety belt retractor (extended wagon).
    1. Remove the safety belt guide.
    2. Using the special tool, remove the bolt.
      • To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
    3. Remove the safety belt retractor.

  15. Remove the upper rear quarter trim panel.
    1. Remove the pushpins.
    2. Remove the upper rear trim panel.

  17. Remove the upper front quarter trim panel.
    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Remove the upper front trim panel.

  19. Remove the lower rear quarter trim panel (extended wagon).
    1. Remove the 2 screws.
    2. Remove the pushpins.
    3. Remove the lower rear quarter trim panel.

  21. Remove the lower front quarter trim panel.
    1. Remove the 6 screws.
    2. Lift the lower front trim panel slightly upward and remove the panel from the body side.

    NOTE: Replace any metal clips to the quarter trim panel before installing.
    NOTE: To install the upper front quarter trim panel, start at the front lower corner, then work along the lower edge to the pillar.
    NOTE: To install the upper rear quarter trim panel, start at the front lower portion and work up the pillars.
  23. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
