Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES article.

NOTE: The brake tubes must be installed in the same location as removed.

Remove the 5 brake tube-to-HCU fittings.
- To install, tighten to 23 Nm (17 lb-ft).
Remove the 2 HCU-to-bracket nuts and the HCU.
- To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).
Remove the ABS module. For additional information, refer to Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module in this article.

NOTE: The HCU bracket does not have to be removed in order to complete this procedure.

If necessary, remove the 3 HCU-bracket-to-frame bolts and the bracket.
- To install, tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
