Pinpoint Test L: The Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Transmitter Is Out Of Synchronization
- L1 SYNCHRONIZE THE INOPERATIVE RKE TRANSMITTER
- Key in OFF position.
- Key in ON position.
Leave the key in the ON position for a minimum of 6 seconds
- Key in START position.
- Does the vehicle start?
Yes : GO to L2.
No : REFER to ANTI-THEFT - PATS to continue diagnosis of the passive anti-theft system (PATS).
- L2 CHECK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) B2425
- Remove the ignition key and press any button on the RKE transmitter.
- Connect the scan tool.
- Key in ON position.
- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: RETRIEVE DTCs.
- Is DTC B2425 present?
Yes : GO to L4.
No : GO to L3.
- L3 CHECK THE RKE TRANSMITTER OPERATION
- Key in OFF position.
- Press the lock button on the RKE transmitter.
- Does the RKE transmitter operate?
Yes : The system is OK. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
No : GO to PINPOINT TEST H to diagnose the integrated key.
- L4 CHECK FOR CORRECT SJB OPERATION
- Disconnect all the SJB connectors.
- Check for:
- Corrosion
- Pushed-out pins
- Connect all the SJB connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
Yes : INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES . CYCLE each key to the ON position for a minimum of 6 seconds to program the RKE function of the integrated keys. INFORM the customer that any integrated keys not present need to be programmed. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
No : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
