Pinpoint Test Z: The Public Safety Equipment Power Supply Is Inoperative

Z1 CHECK THE POLICE POWER RELAY
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Police Power Relay.
- Carry out the police power relay component test. Refer to COMPONENT TESTING .
- Is the police power relay OK?
Yes : GO to Z2.

No : INSTALL a new police power relay. TEST the system for normal operation.
Z2 CHECK CIRCUIT 175 (BK/YE) FOR AN OPEN
- Measure the voltage between the police power relay pin 30, circuit 296 (WH/VT), harness side and ground.

- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
Yes : GO to Z3.

No : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
Z3 CHECK CIRCUIT 297 (LB/PK) FOR AN OPEN
- Key in ON position.
- Measure the voltage between the police power relay pin 85, circuit 297 (LB/PK), harness side and ground.

- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
Yes : GO to Z4.

No : VERIFY the CJB fuse 11 (10A) is OK. If OK, REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
Z4 CHECK FOR GROUND TO THE POLICE POWER RELAY
- Key in OFF position.
- Measure the resistance between the police power relay pin 86, circuit 57 (BK), harness side and ground.

- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes : REPAIR circuit 401 (PK). TEST the system for normal operation.

No : REPAIR circuit 57 (BK). TEST the system for normal operation.
