Removal And Installation

  1. Remove the rear door trim panel. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM & ORNAMENTATION article.
  2. Position the watershield aside.
  3. Remove the rear door lock actuator rivet.
  4. Disconnect the rear door lock actuator electrical connector.
  5. If equipped, remove the lock rod bell crank rivet.
  6. Remove the 3 rivets and remove the interior door handle remote control.
    • Disconnect the interior door handle remote control actuating rod.
  7. Open the clip and disconnect the exterior door handle actuating rod.
  8. Disconnect the door ajar switch electrical connectors.
  9. Remove the 3 screws and the rear door latch.
    • To install, tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).
  10. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Use the special tool to install the new rivets.
