Removal and Installation

NOTE: The thermostat and thermostat housing are serviced as an assembly.

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING .
Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING .
Remove the accessory drive belt tensioner. For additional information, refer to ACCESSORY DRIVE - HYBRID .
Disconnect the heater hose at the thermostat housing.
Disconnect the lower radiator hose at the thermostat housing.
Remove the 3 bolts, thermostat housing and gasket.
- To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Clean and inspect the gasket, replace if necessary.
Fill and bleed the cooling system. For additional information, refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING .
