TI1 DTC P1A08: CHECK FOR SELF-TEST DTCS

Is TCM DTC P1A08 present during the self-test?

Yes	No
For KOEO DTC P1A08, GO to TI3. For continuous memory DTC P1A08, GO to TI2.	Unable to duplicate or identify the fault at this time. Concern is elsewhere. RETURN to SYMPTOM CHARTS - HYBRID ESCAPE for further direction.

TI2 CONTINUOUS MEMORY DTC P1A08: CLEAR AND RETRIEVE TCM CONTINUOUS DTCS

NOTE: Diagnose and repair any PCM and TCM KOEO and KOER self-test DTCs before entering this pinpoint test.

NOTE: Clearing the TCM DTCs will erase any TCM recorded freeze frame data. Make sure to record any TCM freeze frame information before proceeding any further. Refer to the diagnostic tool instruction manual for freeze frame PID menu.

Record and clear the PCM and TCM continuous DTCs.
Clear and retrieve TCM continuous DTCs.

Is TCM continuous DTC P1A08 present during the self-test?

Yes	No
GO to TI3.	Unable to duplicate or identify the fault at this time. DISREGARD the current diagnostic trouble code (DTC) at this time. ADDRESS the next DTC. GO to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) CHARTS AND DESCRIPTIONS .

TI3 KOEO DTC P1A08: CHECK THE TCM GENERATOR MODE PID

Key in ON position.
Access the TCM and monitor the GENMODE PID.
Key on engine running.

Does the PID indicate that the GENMODE changed when the key is cycled from RUN to START?

Yes	No
Key in OFF position. INSTALL a new transaxle assembly.	Key in OFF position. INSTALL a new PCM. REFER to FLASH ELECTRICALLY ERASABLE PROGRAMMABLE READ ONLY MEMORY (EEPROM) .
