    Yes No
DTCs other than informational DTCs should be diagnosed in the following order:
PCM KOEO, PCM KOER, TCM On Demand, PCM CONT and TCM CONT.
DISREGARD the current diagnostic trouble code (DTC) at this time. ADDRESS the next DTC. GO to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) CHARTS AND DESCRIPTIONS .
    GO to  QE2.
  2. QE2 CHECK FOR THE PRESENCE OF TCM DTCS P1A03 OR P1A04
    • DTC P1A03 without DTC P1A04 present indicates an MSDN circuit fault.
    • DTC P1A04 without DTC P1A03 present indicates a GSDN circuit fault.
    • DTCs P1A03 and P1A04 together indicate that PCM requested MSDN and GSDN because of some other malfunction.

Is TCM DTC P1A03 or P1A04 present during the self-test?

    Yes No
For DTC P1A03 without DTC P1A04 present:
GO to Pinpoint Test TE .
For DTC P1A04 without DTC P1A03 present:
GO to Pinpoint Test TF .
For DTCs P1A03 and P1A04 together:
    GO to  QE3.
    GO to  QE4.
  3. QE3 CHECK MSDN AND GSDN PIDS
    • Access the TCM and monitor the M_SDN_A, M_SDN_C, G_SDN_A and G_SDN_C PIDs.

Do any of the PIDs indicate ON?

    Yes No
    For M_SDN_A indicating ON:
GO to  QE4 For M_SDN_C indicating ON:
    GO to  TE4,.
    For G_SDN_A indicating ON:
    GO to  QE4.
    For G_SDN_C indicating ON:
    GO to  TF4.
    GO to  QE4.
  4. QE4 CHECK FOR THE PRESENCE OF TCM DTC P0726 OR P0727
    • TCM DTC P0726 or P0727 with an engine that does not start indicates a missing CKP signal to the PCM.
    • TCM DTC P0726 or P0727 with an engine that starts and runs indicates a missing CTO signal to the TCM.

Are the TCM DTCs P0726 or P0727 present during self-test?

    Yes No
For DTC P0726 or P0727 and engine does not start:
GO to Pinpoint Test JD .
For DTC P0726 or P0727 and engine starts and continues running:
GO to Pinpoint Test JH .
    GO to  QE5.
  5. QE5 CHECK FOR THE PRESENCE OF PCM DTC P0A27 OR P0A28
    • PCM DTCs P0A27 or P0A28 indicate a BPO circuit failure or that the Traction Battery Control Module (TBCM) sent the Battery Power Off (BPO) request to the PCM.

Are the PCM DTCs P0A27 or P0A28 present during self-test?

    Yes No
For DTCs P0A27 and P0A28, GO to  FC2. GO to  QE6.
  6. QE6 CHECK FOR THE PRESENCE OF PCM DTC P0A09
NOTE: The PCM DTC P0A09 indicates the DC to DC Fault (DCF) circuit is shorted to ground, there is internal DC to DC damage, or the 12 V bus voltage dropped below calibrated threshold.

Is PCM DTC P0A09 present during the self-test?

    Yes No
For KOEO or KOER DTC P0A09:
    GO to  HH17.
    For continuous memory DTC P0A09:
    GO to  HH23.
    GO to  QE7.
  7. QE7 CHECK FOR TGAC AND TMAC CIRCUITS SHORTED TO SIGNALS IN THE SAME HARNESS
    • PCM connector disconnected.
    • Transaxle Assembly-B connector disconnected.
    • Measure the resistance between:
    ( + ) Transaxle Assembly-B Connector, Harness Side ( - ) Transaxle Assembly-B Connector, Harness Side
    TGAC - Pin 9 TMAC - Pin 4
    TGAC - Pin 9 MSDN - Pin 5
    TGAC - Pin 9 GSDN- Pin 10
    TGAC - Pin 9 CTO - Pin 1
    TMAC - Pin 4 MSDN - Pin 5
    TMAC - Pin 4 GSDN- Pin 10
    TMAC - Pin 4 CTO - Pin 1

Are the resistances greater than 10K ohms?

    Yes No
    For DTCs P2104, P2105, P2106 and P2110, GO to  QE8.
For all others, GO to STEP 2: NO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) PRESENT SYMPTOM CHART INDEX for further direction.
If symptom is not listed, REFER to the applicable repair information article or to Pinpoint Test Z , for intermittent PCM/TCM diagnostics.
    REPAIR the short circuit.
