Appropriate repair methods and procedures are essential for the safe, reliable operation of all motor vehicles, as well as the personal safety of the individual doing the work. This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

Harness circuits: high speed CAN(+) High, high speed CAN(-) Low, between the data link connector DLC and Powertrain Control Module (PCM) or (TCM).
DLC harness circuits: chassis GND, signal GND, 12-volt battery positive B+.
Open VREF or GND to PCM.
Open VPWR or GND to TCM.
KOER DTC P1001.

NOTE: Network connection to other modules depends on vehicle configuration. Refer to SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS for details of this circuit.
