DTC P2450: Evaporative Emission Control System Switching Valve Performance Or Stuck Open

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
P2450 - EVAPORATIVE EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM SWITCHING VALVE PERFORMANCE OR STUCK OPEN

Description:  The PCM monitors the complete EVAP control system for the presence of a very small fuel vapor leak. The system failure occurs when a fuel vapor leak from an opening as small as 0.508 mm (0.020 inch) is detected by the EVAP running loss monitor test. If the EVAP system passes, the PCM commands the fuel tank isolation valve (FTIV) closed and reopens the canister vent. If a leak is detected now, the FTIV is suspect and the DTC is set.
Possible Causes:
  • Stuck open FTIV.
  • Damaged FTIV.
  • Contaminated FTIV.
Diagnostic Aids:  Retrieve all continuous memory and on-demand self-test DTCs from the PCM. Diagnose and repair DTC P2418  before diagnosing this performance DTC.
