DTC P1A04: Generator Shutdown Circuit

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
P1A04 - GENERATOR SHUTDOWN CIRCUIT

Description:  The TCM continuously monitors the generator shutdown (GSDN) circuit and the CAN signal for a GSDN request from the PCM. This DTC is set when the PCM requests generator shutdown through the CAN signal or if there is a GSDN circuit fault. The generator inverter will be disabled.
Possible Causes:
  • GSDN circuit open.
  • GSDN circuit short to PWR or GND.
  • PCM GSDN request.
  • Damaged TCM.
  • Damaged PCM.
Diagnostic Aids:  With the PCM and TCM connected and KOEO, check the GSDN signal frequency. If the frequency is between 49 and 75 Hz DC, no circuit problem is indicated and PCM generator shutdown is requested.
