DTC P0403: EEGR Electric Motor Windings Or Circuits To The Pcm Shorted Or Open

P0403 - EEGR ELECTRIC MOTOR WINDINGS OR CIRCUITS TO THE PCM SHORTED OR OPEN

Description:	The EEGR system is continuously monitored to check the 4 EEGR motor coils, circuits, and the PCM for opens, shorts to power and ground. If a malfunction is detected the EEGR system is disabled and additional monitoring is suspended for the remainder of the drive until the next drive cycle.
Possible Causes:	EEGR motor windings open. Connector to EEGR not seated. Open circuit in the harness from the PCM to the EEGR. Open circuit in the PCM. Short circuit in the EEGR motor. Short circuit in the harness from the PCM to the EEGR. Short circuit in the PCM.
Diagnostic Aids:	If an intermittent condition is suspected the most effective method of wiring fault isolation is to use the wiggle test method while measuring for shorts and open circuits.
