Removal and Installation

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING .
Install the special tools.

Disconnect the heater hose retaining clip from the transaxle mount stud.

Remove insulator nut.
- To install, tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).

Remove the 3 bolts and the bracket.
- To install, tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).

Remove the nuts, heat shield, and insulator.
- To install, tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).

Remove the vacuum hose from the bottom of the insulator.

NOTE: The new rear transmission does not have or use the vacuum hose. The vacuum port will need to be plugged off.

Remove and discard the vacuum hose from the vacuum solenoid.
Install the protective cap on the top port of the vacuum solenoid.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
