Removal and Installation

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING .
- Install the special tools.
- Install the special tool.
- Disconnect the heater hose retaining clip from the transaxle mount stud.
- Remove insulator nut.
- To install, tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).
- Remove the 3 bolts and the bracket.
- To install, tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).
- Remove the nuts, heat shield, and insulator.
- To install, tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).
- Remove the vacuum hose from the bottom of the insulator.
- Remove and discard the vacuum hose from the vacuum solenoid.
- Install the protective cap on the top port of the vacuum solenoid.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
NOTE:
The new rear transmission does not have or use the vacuum hose. The vacuum port will need to be plugged off.
