Automatic transmission vehicles

  1. Remove the starter motor. For additional information, refer to STARTING SYSTEM - GASOLINE ENGINES article.
  2. Remove the transmission filler tube. For additional information, refer to AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION - TORQSHIFT article.
  3. Remove the bolts and position the transmission oil cooler lines and bracket aside.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and the flexplate inspection cover.

  2. Remove the access plug.

  3. Remove the 6 torque converter-to-flexplate nuts.
    • Discard the nuts.

  4. Remove the 5 lower transmission-to-engine bolts.

  1. Remove the upper 2 transmission-to-engine bolts.

  1. Support the transmission with a jack.
