Removal And Installation

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.
  2. Remove the steering wheel. For additional information, refer to STEERING SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION article.
  3. Remove the 2 screws and the lower dash panel.

  5. Remove the screw and the lower steering column shroud.

  7. Remove the 2 screws and the upper steering column shroud.

  9. Disconnect the clockspring electrical connectors.

  11. Remove the screw and slide the multi-function switch up and position it aside.

  13. Place a piece of tape on the clockspring to prevent it from rotating.

  15. Press the 3 tabs on the clockspring and slide the clockspring off.

  17. Remove the 3 screws and remove the clockspring and shroud mounting bracket.

  19. Disconnect the brake shift interlock switch electrical connector.

  21. Release the tab and slide the brake shift interlock down to remove.

  23. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
