Pinpoint Test D: A Single Illumination Source Is Inoperative

CAUTION:
Use the correct probe adaptor(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adaptor(s) may damage the connector.
- D1 CHECK THE VOLTAGE CIRCUIT TO THE INOPERATIVE ILLUMINATION SOURCE
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Inoperative Illumination Source
- Key in ON position.
- Turn the parking lamps on, and rotate the dimmer switch to the full illumination position.
- Measure the voltage between the inoperative illumination source, harness side and ground as follows:
Dimmable Illumination Source Connector-Pin Circuit Message center switch C253-1 19 (LB/RD) Parking aid switch C2035-8 19 (LB/RD) Adjustable pedal switch C2235-5 19 (LB/RD) Audio unit C290a-3 19 (LB/RD) Floor shifter C3245-4 19 (LB/RD) DVD player C949-14 19 (LB/RD) 4WD switch C284-4 19 (LB/RD) Traction control switch C280-8 19 (LB/RD) Non-Dimmable Illumination Source Connector-Pin Circuit Roof opening panel control switch C912-5 54 (LG/YE) LH door lock control switch C505-5 54 (LG/YE) RH door lock control switch C605-5 54 (LG/YE) - Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
- YES : Go to D2.
- NO : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
- D2 CHECK THE GROUND CIRCUIT TO THE INOPERATIVE ILLUMINATION SOURCE
- Measure the resistance between the inoperative illumination source, harness side and ground as follows:

- YES : INSTALL a new illumination source in question. TEST the system for normal operation.
- NO : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
