Removal And Installation

- Drain the engine cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding in this article.
- Remove the cooling fan. For additional information, refer to Cooling Fan - Blade, Clutch and Shroud in this article.
- Loosen the 4 coolant pump pulley bolts.
- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
- Remove the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to ACCESSORY DRIVE article.
- Remove the bolts and the coolant pump pulley.
- Remove the bolts and the coolant pump.
- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
- Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
- Clean the O-ring seal mating surface with metal surface prep. Follow the directions on the packaging.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Install a new O-ring seal and lubricate it with clean engine coolant.
