Removal And Installation

  1. Drain the engine cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding  in this article.
  2. Remove the cooling fan. For additional information, refer to Cooling Fan - Blade, Clutch and Shroud  in this article.
  3. Loosen the 4 coolant pump pulley bolts.
    • To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
  4. Remove the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to ACCESSORY DRIVE article.
  5. Remove the bolts and the coolant pump pulley.
  6. Remove the bolts and the coolant pump.
    • To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
  7. Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
  8. Clean the O-ring seal mating surface with metal surface prep. Follow the directions on the packaging.
  9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Install a new O-ring seal and lubricate it with clean engine coolant.
