Pinpoint Test X: The Individual Trailer Lamp Is Inoperative - RH Trailer Turn Signal/STOPLAMP/Hazard Flasher Lamp

  1. X1 CHECK CIRCUIT 64 (DG) FOR VOLTAGE 
    • Disconnect: Trailer Tow C4098 (4-Pin).
    • Disconnect: Trailer Tow C4099 (7-Pin).
    • Key in OFF position.
    • While applying the brake pedal, measure the voltage between the trailer tow C4098-1, circuit 64 (DG) (4-pin connector), harness side and ground; or between the trailer tow C4099-4, circuit 64 (DG) (7-pin connector), harness side and ground.

    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? 

    Yes  : The vehicle is operating correctly. SEND the trailer to an authorized camper/trailer repair facility.

    No  : GO to X2.

  2. X2 CHECK THE TRAILER TOW RH TURN RELAY 
    • Disconnect: Trailer Tow RH Turn Relay C1187.
    • Carry out the trailer tow RH turn relay component test.
    • Is the trailer tow RH turn relay OK? 

    Yes  : GO to X3.

    No  : INSTALL a new trailer tow RH turn relay. TEST the system for normal operation.

  3. X3 CHECK CIRCUIT 5 (OG/LB) FOR AN OPEN 
    • While applying the brake pedal, measure the voltage between the trailer tow RH turn relay C1187-2, circuit 5 (OG/LB), harness side and ground.

    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? 

    Yes  : GO to X4.

    No  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.

  4. X4 CHECK CIRCUIT 1362 (DG/OG) FOR AN OPEN 
    • Measure the voltage between the trailer tow RH turn relay C1187-3, circuit 1362 (DG/OG), harness side and ground.

    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? 

    Yes  : GO to X5.

    No  : VERIFY the BJB fuse 9 (20A) is OK. If OK, REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.

  5. X5 CHECK THE TRAILER RH TURN RELAY GROUND 
    • Measure the resistance between the trailer tow RH turn relay C1187-1, circuit 57 (BK), harness side and ground.

    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 

    Yes  : REPAIR circuit 64 (DG). TEST the system for normal operation.

    No  : REPAIR circuit 57 (BK). TEST the system for normal operation.
