Pinpoint Test AF: The Daytime Running Lamps Are On With The Ignition Switch Off

- AF1 CHECK THE HEADLAMP SYSTEM FOR A SHORT TO POWER
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: DRL Relay 3 C1000.
- Do the headlamps continue to illuminate?
Yes : REFER to HEADLAMPS .
No : GO to AF2.
- AF2 CHECK THE DRL RELAY 3
- Carry out the relay component test for the DRL relay 3. Refer to EXTERIOR LIGHTS for component testing.
- Is the DRL relay 3 OK?
Yes : GO to AF3.
No : INSTALL a new DRL relay 3. TEST the system for normal operation.
- AF3 CHECK CIRCUIT 1032 (WH/BK) FOR A SHORT TO POWER
- Connect DRL Relay 3 C1000.
- Disconnect: DRL Relay 2 C1172.
- Do the DRL continue to illuminate?
Yes : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
No : GO to AF4.
- AF4 CHECK CIRCUIT 175 (BK/YE) FOR A SHORT TO POWER
- Connect: DRL Relay 2 C1172.
- Disconnect: DRL Relay 1 C1171.
- Do the DRL continue to illuminate?
Yes : REPAIR circuit 175 (BK/YE). TEST the system for normal operation.
No : REPAIR circuit 295 (LB/BK). TEST the system for normal operation.
