Pinpoint Test T: The Heated Seat Is Inoperative - Right Rear, Does Not Operate In Low

  1. T1 CHECK THE HEATED SEAT SWITCH INPUT RESISTANCE TO THE HEATED SEAT MODULE 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: Right Rear Heated Seat Module C3163

    • Measure resistance between right rear heated seat module C3163-11, circuit 1256 (WH/YE), harness side and ground while pressing the heated seat switch.
    • Is resistance less than 75 ohms when the heated seat switch is pressed? 
    1. YES  : INSTALL a new heated seat module. REFER to Heated Seat Module - Rear Seat . TEST the system for normal operation.
    2. NO  : Go to  T2.
  2. T2 CHECK CIRCUITS 1256 (WH/YE) AND 1255 (WH/RD) FOR AN OPEN OR SHORT TO GROUND 
    • Disconnect: Right Rear Heated Seat Switch C822
      • Fig 2: Checking Circuit 1255 (WH/RD) For An Open Or Short To Ground

    • Measure resistance between:
      • right rear heated seat switch C822-2, circuit 1255 (WH/RD), harness side and right rear heated seat module C3163-11, circuit 1256 (WH/YE), harness side.
      • right rear heated seat switch C822-2, circuit 1255 (WH/RD), harness side and ground.
    • Is resistance less than 5 ohms between the heated seat switch and heated seat module and greater than 10,000 ohms between the heated seat switch and ground? 
    1. YES  : Go to  T3.
    2. NO  : REPAIR the circuit(s). TEST the system for normal operation.
  3. T3 CHECK CIRCUIT 1256 (WH/YE) FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE 
    • Key in ON position.

    • Measure voltage between right rear heated seat module C3163-11, circuit 1256 (WH/YE), harness side and ground.
    • Is any voltage present? 
    1. YES  : INSTALL a new heated seat switch. TEST the system for normal operation.
    2. NO  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
