Pinpoint Test Q: The Heated Seat Is Inoperative - Left Rear, Does Not Operate In High

- Q1 CHECK HEATED SEAT SWITCH INPUT RESISTANCE TO THE HEATED SEAT MODULE
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Left Rear Heated Seat Module C3162
- Measure resistance between left rear heated seat module C3162-8, circuit 1020 (DG/VT), harness side and ground while pressing the heated seat switch.
- Is resistance less than 75 ohms while pressing the heated seat switch?
- YES : INSTALL a new heated seat module. REFER to Heated Seat Module - Rear Seat . TEST the system for normal operation.
- NO : Go to Q2.
- Q2 CHECK CIRCUIT 1020 (DG/VT) FOR AN OPEN OR SHORT TO GROUND
- Disconnect: Left Rear Heated Seat Switch C722
- Measure resistance between:
- left rear heated seat switch C722-6, circuit 1020 (DG/VT), harness side and left rear heated seat module C3162-8, circuit 1020 (DG/VT), harness side.
- left rear heated seat switch C722-6, circuit 1020 (DG/VT), harness side and ground.
- Is resistance less than 5 ohms between the heated seat switch and heated seat module and greater than 10,000 ohms between the heated seat switch and ground?
- YES : Go to Q3.
- NO : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
- Q3 CHECK CIRCUIT 1020 (DG/VT) FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Key in ON position.
- Measure voltage between left rear heated seat module C3162-8, circuit 1020 (DG/VT), harness side and ground.
- Is any voltage present?
- YES : INSTALL a new heated seat switch. TEST the system for normal operation.
- NO : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
