Pinpoint Test Ac: The Air Bag/Safety Belt Warning Chime Is Inoperative

- AC1 CHECK FOR RECORDED RCM DTCs
- Check for recorded RCM DTCs from the continuous and on-demand self-tests.
- Are any RCM DTCs present?
- YES : REFER to DIAGNOSTIC TESTS .
- NO
: If the air bag or safety belt warning chime is inoperative, go to AC3.
If the Belt-Minder® is inoperative, go to AC2.
- AC2 CHECK THE BELT-MINDER® ACTIVATION STATUS
- Verify that the Belt-Minder® is activated for both the LH front and RH front seating positions. Refer to Belt-Minder® Deactivating/Activating .
- Is the Belt-Minder® activated for both front seating positions?
- YES : Go to AC3.
- NO : ACTIVATE the belt for the seating position in question. REFER to Belt-Minder® Deactivating/Activating . TEST the system for normal operation.
- AC3 CHECK FOR CORRECT LCM OPERATION
- Disconnect all the LCM connectors.
- Check for:
- corrosion
- damaged pins
- pushed-out pins
- Connect all the LCM connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
- YES : INSTALL a new LCM. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES article. TEST the system for normal operation.
- NO : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
