Pinpoint Test H: Seat Does Not Heat But The Heated Seat Indicator Illuminates When Pressed

Test Step
- H1 CHECK CIRCUIT 1064 (YE/LB) FOR AN OPEN
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Heated Seat Switch C320 (Driver) or C321 (Passenger).
- Disconnect: Heated Seat Cushion Element C364 (Driver) or C334 (Passenger).
- Measure the resistance between driver heated seat switch C320 (passenger C321) pin 1, circuit 1064 (YE/LB), harness side and driver heated seat cushion element C364 (passenger C334) pin 4, circuit 1064 (YE/LB) harness side.
- Is the resistance less than 0.5 ohm?
Result / Action to Take
- Yes : GO to H2.
- No : REPAIR circuit 1064 (YE/LB). TEST the system for normal operation.
- H2 CHECK HEATED SEAT CUSHION ELEMENT FOR AN OPEN
- Measure the resistance between driver heated seat cushion C364 (passenger C334) pin 1 and pin 4, component side.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
- Yes : GO to H3.
- No : INSTALL a new heated seat cushion element. TEST the system for normal operation.
- H3 CHECK CIRCUIT 1066 (GY/LB) FOR AN OPEN
- Disconnect: Seat Back Heater C365 (Driver) or C335 (Passenger).
- Measure the resistance between driver heated seat cushion element C364 (passenger C334) pin 1, circuit 1066 (GY/LB), harness side and driver heated seat backrest element C365 (passenger C335) pin 2, circuit 1066 (GY/LB), harness side.
- Is the resistance less than 0.5 ohm?
- Yes : GO to H4.
- No : REPAIR circuit 1066 (GY/LB). TEST the system for normal operation.
- H4 CHECK CIRCUIT 1066 (GY/LB) A SHORT TO GROUND
- Measure the resistance between driver heated seat cushion element C364 (passenger C334) pin 1, circuit 1066 (GY/LB), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
- Yes : GO to H5.
- No : REPAIR circuit 1066 (GY/LB). TEST the system for normal operation.
- H5 CHECK HEATED SEAT BACKREST ELEMENT FOR AN OPEN
- Measure the resistance between driver heated seat backrest element C365 (passenger C335) pin 1 and pin 2, component side.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
- Yes : GO to H6.
- No : INSTALL a new heated seat back element. TEST the system for normal operation.
- H6 CHECK CIRCUIT 57 (BK) FOR AN OPEN
- Measure the resistance between driver heated seat backrest element C365 (passenger C335) pin 1, circuit 57 (BK) harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
- Yes : INSTALL a new heated seat switch. TEST the system for normal operation.
- No : REPAIR circuit 57 (BK). TEST the system for normal operation.
