Pinpoint Test C: The Daytime Running Lamps Are On With The Ignition Switch Off

- C1 CHECK CIRCUIT 13 (RD/BK) FOR A SHORT TO POWER
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: DRL Relay No. 3.
- Do the DRL continue to illuminate?
- Yes : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
- No : GO to C2.
- C2 CHECK THE DRL RELAY NO. 3
- Carry out the relay component test for the DRL relay No. 3. Refer to COMPONENT TESTING - F250-F550 SUPER DUTY PICKUP for component testing.
- Is the DRL relay No. 3 OK?
- Yes : GO to C3.
- No : INSTALL a new DRL relay No. 3. TEST the system for normal operation.
- C3 CHECK CIRCUIT 1032 (WH/BK) FOR A SHORT TO POWER
- Connect: DRL Relay No. 3.
- Disconnect: DRL Relay No. 2.
- Do the DRL continue to illuminate?
- Yes : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
- No : GO to C4.
- C4 CHECK CIRCUIT 175 (BK/YE) FOR A SHORT TO POWER
- Connect: DRL Relay No. 2.
- Disconnect: DRL Parking Brake Relay (No. 1).
- Do the DRL continue to illuminate?
- Yes : REPAIR circuit 175 (BK/YE). TEST the system for normal operation.
- No : REPAIR circuit 295 (LB/BK). TEST the system for normal operation.
