Axle Shaft: Removal
- Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to JACKING & HOISTING .
- Remove the wheel and tire assembly. .
- Remove the rear brake disc. For additional information, refer to DISC .
- Remove the differential housing cover and drain the lubricant. For additional information, refer to DIFFERENTIAL HOUSING COVER .
- Remove the rear anti-lock brake sensor.
- Remove the rear anti-lock brake sensor bolt.
- Remove the rear anti-lock brake sensor.
- Remove the differential pinion shaft.
- Remove the differential pinion shaft lock bolt.
- Remove the differential pinion shaft.
- Remove the U-washer.
- Push the axle shafts inboard.
- Remove the U-washer.
- Remove the axle shaft.
CAUTION:
Damage to the rear brake anti-lock sensor may occur if it is not removed before the axle shaft U-washer.
CAUTION:
Do not damage the rubber O-ring in the axle shaft groove.
CAUTION:
Do not damage the wheel bearing oil seal.
