Rear Brake Caliper & Pads: Removal

  1. Use a suitable suction device to lower the brake fluid level in the master cylinder reservoir.
  2. Raise and support vehicle. Remove rear wheels.
  3. Disconnect and plug brake hose at caliper.
  4. Disengage the parking brake cable end from the parking brake lever arm. See Fig 1.
  5. Remove the parking brake cable retaining clip. See Fig 2.
  6. Remove the parking brake cable and conduit. See Fig 3.
  7. Remove the rear disc brake caliper brake hose flow bolt. See Fig 4.
  8. Remove the rear brake caliper bolts and remove the caliper. See Fig 4.
  9. Remove brake pads from anchor plate. See Fig 5.
  10. Remove the slippers. See Fig 6.
  11. Measure the brake disc, resurface and or install new as necessary. See Fig 7.
