Pinpoint Test J: The Instrument Panel Illumination Does Not Dim

J1 CHECK THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ILLUMINATION 

• Key in OFF position.
• Turn the headlamp switch to the parking lamps ON position.
• Adjust the panel dimmer switch to maximum brightness.
• Do the audio unit, climate control unit, and instrument cluster backlights illuminate? 

Yes 

INSTALL a new dimmer switch (part of the headlamp switch). TEST the system for normal operation.

No 

Go To PINPOINT TEST A: THE CONTROL ILLUMINATION IS INOPERATIVE  .
