Removal & Installation
CAUTION:
The brake drum removal in this procedure is for access to brake system components, not for installing a new brake drum. To replace brake drum, remove the wheel hub retaining nut.
- Release the parking brake.
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove the wheel and tire.
- On vehicles with ABS, detach the wheel speed sensor wiring harness from the wheel knuckle and floor panel. Disconnect the electrical connector. Detach the clips. See Figure.
- Remove the wheel spindle and wheel hub assembly from the wheel knuckle. The wheel speed sensor wiring harness is routed through the wheel knuckle.
- Remove the wheel spindle and wheel hub assembly bolts and remove wheel hub assembly. See Fig 1.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
