Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the liftgate trim panel. Refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
  2. Remove the six nuts.

  3. Release the lock cylinder rod.

  4. Release the liftgate release handle actuating rod.
    1. Open the locking clip.
    2. Release the rod.

  5. Remove the exterior liftgate release handle and finish panel.
  6. Remove the liftgate lock cylinder.
    1. Remove the locking clip.
    2. Remove the lock cylinder.

    7. NOTE: Transfer parts as necessary.
  7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
