Turbocharger Inlet Y-Pipe: Removal

  1. Remove the turbocharger assembly. Refer to TURBOCHARGER .
  2. Remove the fuel injector control module bracket from the LH valve cover.
  3. NOTE: There is a metal gasket between the exhaust inlet pipe and the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler.

  4. Remove the exhaust inlet pipe-to-EGR cooler clamp.
  5. NOTE: There is a metal gasket between the exhaust inlet pipes.

  6. Remove the nuts and the bolts connecting the LH exhaust inlet pipe-to-RH exhaust inlet pipe.
  7. Remove the LH exhaust inlet pipe-to-exhaust manifold nuts.

  8. Carefully remove the LH exhaust inlet pipe from the vehicle.
  9. Remove the RH exhaust inlet pipe-to exhaust manifold nuts.

  10. Rotate the pipe 90° counterclockwise, then remove the RH exhaust inlet pipe from the vehicle.
