Removal (Rear)

NOTE: Procedure is for right side, left side is similar.
  1. Remove the console.
  2. Remove the adjusting nut. See Fig 1.
  3. Raise and support the vehicle.
  4. Remove the muffler shield. See Figure.
  5. Disconnect the parking brake return spring and the left and right parking brake rear cable and conduits from the front parking brake cable and conduit. See Figure.
  6. Remove the right front parking brake cable clip. See Fig 2.
  7. Disconnect the front bracket on the parking brake rear cable and conduit. Remove the bolt. Disconnect the bracket. See Fig 3.
  8. Disconnect the rear bracket on the parking brake rear cable and conduit. Remove the nut. Disconnect the bracket. See Fig 4.
  9. On vehicles equipped with rear drum brakes, disconnect the parking brake rear cable and conduit. Remove the bolts. Disconnect the parking brake rear cable and conduit. See Fig 5.
  10. On vehicles equipped with rear drum brakes, disconnect the rear parking brake rear cable and conduit from the parking brake actuating lever. See Fig 6.
  11. Remove the parking brake rear cable and conduit.
