Master Cylinder: Reassembly

  1. Use clean brake fluid to lubricate the new piston assembly seals and the brake master cylinder bore.
  2. Carefully install the secondary piston assembly. See Fig 3.
  3. Carefully install the primary piston assembly.
  4. Depress the primary piston. Install the snap ring. See Fig 2.
  5. If equipped, install the two brake pressure control valves. See Fig 1.
  6. Install the brake master cylinder reservoir.
    • Lubricate the grommets with brake fluid and insert the grommets into the brake master cylinder.
    • Press the brake master cylinder reservoir into the grommets until it snaps in securely.
    • Fill the brake master cylinder with brake fluid.
  7. Install the reservoir cap.
  8. Install master cylinder. See MASTER CYLINDER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
