Pedal And Bracket: Removal

NOTE: A/T vehicle shown; M/T vehicle similar.

Remove the battery tray; refer to BATTERY TRAY .
Remove the clutch master cylinder cover plate nut.

Position the hood latch control handle and cable out of the way.
1. Loosen the nut.
2. Remove the hood latch control handle and cable and position out of the way.

Remove the screw and release the instrument panel steering column cover.

Disconnect the light switch rheostat resistor electrical connector and remove the instrument panel steering column cover.
Disconnect the brake pedal position (BPP) switch electrical connector and the speed control deactivate switch electrical connector.

Remove the steering column tube (3514); refer to COLUMN .
Remove the two brake pedal bracket nuts.

Remove the self-locking pin.

Remove the clevis pin.

Remove the four power brake booster nuts.

If equipped with M/T, disconnect clutch pedal components.
1. Disconnect clutch pedal position (CPP) switch electrical connector.
2. Remove clutch pedal push rod.

Remove the two brake pedal bracket nuts from the LH side.

Remove the brake pedal and bracket.
