No communication with the front electronic module (FEM)
  • Central junction box (CJB) fuse(s):
    • 20 (10A).
    • 30 (5A).
    • 33 (10A).
  • Battery junction box (BJB) fuse 20 (30A).
  • J1850 standard corporate protocol (SCP) communication network.
  • Circuitry.
 REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK to continue module communication diagnosis.
No communication with the rear electronic module (REM)
  • Battery junction box (BJB) fuse(s):
    • 1 (15A).
    • 12 (5A).
    • 28 (30A).
  • J1850 standard corporate protocol (SCP) communication network.
  • Circuitry.
 REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK to continue module communication diagnosis.
No communication with the instrument cluster
  • Central junction box (CJB) fuse(s):
    • 4 (5A).
    • 13 (5A).
    • 17 (5A).
    • 20 (10A).
  • Circuitry.
  • J1850 standard corporate protocol (SCP) communication network.
  • Instrument cluster.
 Go To PINPOINT TEST F .
One or more module-controlled illumination source(s) is inoperative
  • Circuitry.
  • Component.
  • Front electronic module (FEM).
  • Rear electronic module (REM).
  • Battery junction box (BJB).
  • Auxiliary junction box.
 Go To PINPOINT TEST A .
The control illumination is inoperative
  • Circuitry.
  • Front electronic module (FEM).
  • Rear electronic module (REM).
  • Instrument panel dimmer switch.
  • Auxiliary junction box (AJB).
  • Instrument cluster.
 Go To PINPOINT TEST B .
The control illumination is always on
  • Circuitry.
  • Front electronic module (FEM).
  • Rear electronic module (REM).
  • Auxiliary junction box (AJB).
  • Rear power distribution box.
 Go To PINPOINT TEST C .
The instrument cluster illumination is inoperative
  • Circuitry.
  • Instrument cluster.
 Go To PINPOINT TEST D .
The climate control illumination is inoperative
  • Dual automatic temperature control (DATC) module.
 INSTALL a new DATC module. REFER to CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM . Clear the DTC's. REPEAT the self-test.
The audio system illumination is inoperative
  • Audio unit.
 REMOVE the audio unit and SEND it to an authorized Ford audio system repair facility.
The instrument panel illumination does not dim
  • Circuitry.
  • Front electronic module (FEM).
  • Instrument panel dimmer switch.
  • Instrument cluster.
 Go To PINPOINT TEST E .
