The instrument cluster provides a warning chime that sounds to alert the driver as a reminder to turn the headlamps off when exiting the vehicle, remove the ignition key when exiting the vehicle, to fasten the safety belt after starting the vehicle, or that the turn signals have been left on. The audible chime is also used, along with a visible indication, as an added warning that the engine has reached an over-temperature condition, the supplemental restraint system needs service, and as a safety belt minder feature.
