Brake Booster: Removal

All Vehicles

CAUTION: If brake fluid is spilled on the paintwork, the affected area must be immediately washed down with cold water.

Remove the master cylinder. For additional information, refer to HYDRAULIC BRAKE ACTUATION .

Vehicles With Speed Control

Disconnect the speed control unit electrical connector.

Detach the speed control unit.
- Lower the speed control unit.

All Vehicles

Detach the brake tubes from the bulkhead.

Disconnect the hydraulic control unit (HCU) electrical connector.
1. Release the retainer.
2. Disconnect the HCU electrical connector.

CAUTION: Cap the brake tubes to prevent fluid loss or dirt ingress.

Disconnect the brake tubes from the HCU.
Detach the brake booster actuating rod from the brake pedal.
1. Depress the brake pedal.
2. Depress the clip.
3. Remove the pin.

Remove the brake booster retaining nuts.

Remove the brake booster.
