Diagnostic Aids

NOTE: After each service or repair procedure has been completed, reconnect all components. Clear DTCs and repeat QUICK TEST  procedures to ensure all electronic engine control systems are working properly and DTCs are no longer present.
NOTE: BPP switch may also be referred to as Brake On/Off (BOO) or brakelight switch.

Perform this test when directed by QUICK TEST. This test is intended to diagnose a faulty BPP switch circuit or PCM. This test is only intended to diagnose the following components and circuits:

Brakelight switch or BPP input is wired to brakelight circuit and informs PCM when brake pedal is applied. BPP input is used to disengage speed control or auxiliary powertrain control systems.
