Removal And Installation

- Remove the brake master cylinder. For additional information, refer to HYDRAULIC BRAKE ACTUATION article.
- Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose from the check valve.
- If equipped, disconnect the power distribution auxiliary relay box and position it aside.
- Remove the brake pedal cotter pin cover and the brake pedal cotter pin.
- Position the brake pedal position (BPP) switch and the brake booster push rod off the brake pedal pin.
- Remove the 4 brake booster-to-pedal bracket nuts.
- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
- Remove the brake booster.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
