Removal and Installation

All vehicles 

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
2. Remove the air cleaner housing.
3. Disconnect the fluid level sensor connector.

4. Disconnect the brake pressure switch connector, if so equipped.

5. Disconnect the brake tubes.

   Vehicles with Hydro-Boost 

6. Remove the power steering tube bracket nuts.

7. Disconnect the power steering tubes.

   All vehicles 

8. Remove the brake master cylinder nuts and remove the brake master cylinder.

9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
   • Bleed the brake system. Refer to BRAKE SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
   • Bleed the Hydro-Boost system. Refer to STEERING SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
