Removal and Installation

NOTE: SuperCab and Crew Cab vehicles with short bed frames are shown, all other frame lengths are similar.

Release the tension on the parking brake system. For additional information, refer to PARKING BRAKE CABLE TENSION RELEASE .
Separate the parking brake cables at the parking brake equalizer.

NOTE: Vehicles with long box frames have the wire form bracket located under the rear axle front spring hanger.

Remove the wire form bracket bolt from the frame rail and release the conduit from the frame guide.
Remove the parking brake cable bracket bolt from the differential.

Remove the parking brake cable bracket bolt from the lower shock mount.

Release the parking brake cable from the RH parking brake bracket assembly.

Rotate the cable 90 degrees to release it from the parking brake actuating lever and remove the cable.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
