Pinpoint Test Ax: The Turn Signal On Warning Chime Is Inoperative

  1. AX1 CHECK THE KEY-IN-IGNITION WARNING CHIME OPERATION 
    • Ignition OFF.
    • With the ignition switch in the OFF position and the key in the ignition lock cylinder, open the LH front door and observe the key-in-ignition warning chime operation.
    • Does the key-in-ignition warning chime operate correctly? 
    • Yes:  GO to AX2  .
    • No:  INSTALL a new IC  . REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (IC) . TEST the system for normal operation.
  2. AX2 CHECK THE TURN SIGNAL INDICATORS OPERATION 
    • Ignition ON.
    • Verify the turn signal indicators operation.
    • Do the turn signal indicators operate correctly? 
  3. AX3 CHECK THE ODOMETER FOR CORRECT OPERATION 
    • Drive the vehicle and observe the odometer for correct operation.
    • Does the odometer operate correctly? 
  4. AX4 CARRY OUT THE TURN SIGNAL ON WARNING CHIME ACTIVE COMMAND USING THE SCAN TOOL 
    • Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: IC  DataLogger.
    • Select the IC  turn signal on warning chime (CHIME_TS_ON) active command. Command the turn signal on warning chime on.
    • Does the turn signal on warning chime sound? 
    • Yes:  GO to AX5  .
    • No:  INSTALL a new IC  . REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (IC) . TEST the system for normal operation.
  5. AX5 VERIFY IC CONFIGURATION 
    • If a new IC  was installed, make sure the correct module parameters were used when carrying out the Programmable Module Installation (PMI) procedure. If necessary, configure the IC  to enable the turn signal on chime using As-Built data. Refer to MODULE CONFIGURATION .
    • Does the turn signal on chime operate correctly? 
    • Yes:  The system is operating correctly. The IC  was incorrectly configured.
    • No:  INSTALL a new IC  . REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (IC) . TEST the system for normal operation.
