Pinpoint Test Aw: The Headlamps On Warning Chime Is Inoperative

- AW1 CHECK THE SAFETY BELT WARNING CHIME OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Monitor the safety belt warning chime when the ignition switch is transitioned from OFF to RUN for 6 seconds.
- Does the safety belt warning chime operate for approximately 6 seconds?
- Yes: GO to AW2 .
- No: INSTALL a new IC . REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (IC) . TEST the system for normal operation.
- AW2 CHECK THE EXTERIOR LAMPS OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Place the headlamp switch in the PARK or HEADLAMP ON position.
- Do the headlamps or parking lamps operate?
- Yes: GO to AW3 .
- No: REFER to EXTERIOR LIGHTING .
- AW3 CHECK THE DOOR AJAR MESSAGE CENTER WARNING INDICATOR OPERATION
- Ignition ON.
- Open then close the LH front door while observing the door ajar message center warning indicator in the IC message center or the integrated display.
- Does the door ajar message center warning indicator operate correctly?
- Yes: GO to AW4 .
- No: GO to PINPOINT TEST AM .
- AW4 CARRY OUT THE HEADLAMP ON WARNING CHIME ACTIVE COMMAND USING THE SCAN TOOL
- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: IC DataLogger.
- Select the IC door ajar warning chime (CHIME_H_LMP) active command. Command the headlamp on warning chime on.
- Does the key-in-ignition chime sound?
- Yes: INSTALL a new SJB . REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES . TEST the system for normal operation.
- No: INSTALL a new IC . REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (IC) . TEST the system for normal operation.
