When placed in ACC, RUN or START, the ignition switch sends voltage out to the Smart Junction Box (SJB). Microprocessors in the SJB continuously monitors the ignition switch state.
- DTC B2844 (Ignition Fault) - If the SJB receives an invalid ignition state (such as detecting voltage on the START circuit when the switch is in the RUN position) during normal operation, DTC B2844 will be set.
- DTC U2472 (Unexpected Ignition State) - If during the SJB
self test, the ignition is not in the RUN position or the RUN position cannot be detected, DTC U2472 will be set.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Ignition switch
- SJB
