Oil Pan - Upper: Removal

All vehicles 

  1. Remove the lower oil pan. For additional information, refer to OIL PAN - LOWER, PARTIAL BODY LIFT  or OIL PAN - LOWER, BODY ON .

    Partial body lift 

  2. Remove the oil level indicator. Remove the retaining nut for the oil level indicator tube.

    Body on 

  3. Remove the oil level indicator.

    All vehicles 

  4. Remove the bolt. Remove the oil level indicator tube and position it aside.
    • Remove and discard the O-ring seal.

  5. Remove the bolt for the fuel tube retainer.
  6. Remove the 9 bolts and the upper oil pan.
    • Remove and discard the press-in-place gasket. Clean and inspect the sealing surfaces.
